Gentle Yoga-Qigong classes (Harmer Hill)

  • Harmer Hill Village Hall Higher Road, Shrewsbury SY4 3EE (map)

Our weekly slow, mindful practice offers an opportunity to drop down and out of the thinking mind, and into the present sensations within the body.

Qigong is traditionally viewed throughout Asia as a healing practice to cultivate and balance qi (pronounced ‘chi’ or ‘chee’ and meaning life energy). Qigong incorporates soft, fluid movements and sequences which help to reconnect the mind, breath and body by creating a moving meditation.

This practice wonderfully complements yoga’s more linear asanas (postures) which are similarly centred on supporting our life energy, known in yogic systems as prana or kundalini. Where yoga facilitates a sense of opening and purifying as well as developing strength, flexibility and balance; Qi gong facilitates deep internal awareness, nourishment, softness and integration.

The class offers a combination of two ancient self-healing practices, centred on movement and the breath to help you quiet the mind and relax; become in touch with your body; boost your immune system and increase vitality and energy levels. The practice will be infused with intentional awareness of subtle energy.

This class is ideal for anyone looking for a gentle movement practice and no prior experience is necessary. For experienced yogis, this class is an invitation for you to explore your practice more deeply and with increased presence and awareness.

- Classes are priced at £8 each or £25 for a block of four.

Your first class is my gift to you!
